Vapour Blasting Service

We grew weary of outsourcing our blasting requirements, which often led to prolonged project timelines, delays, and a lack of control over the process. As a solution, we opted to internalize this aspect of our operations to align more closely with our project schedules and maintain strict quality oversight.

While our rates remain competitive within the market, we excel in adhering to shorter turnaround times and offer additional services such as bearing removal and replacement, ensuring top-tier results in our industry. Transparency is paramount and we always provide lead times for our services to ensure we accommodate your needs effectively.

Refer to the pricing table below for an overview of our rates. However, please note that the absence of a particular item does not imply its exclusion from our services.

Feel free to reach out to us for further inquiries, as we can accommodate various blasting needs. Our pricing is based on typical blast times for typical components, but sending us images for assessment allows us to offer personalised quotations.

Why Vapour Blast?

Vapour blasting, also known as wet blasting, offers several advantages over traditional dry blasting methods:

  • Gentler on Surfaces: Vapor blasting uses a slurry of water, abrasive media, and sometimes a rust inhibitor, which cushions the impact of the abrasive material on the surface being cleaned. This results in less damage or distortion to the substrate compared to dry blasting, making it suitable for delicate or sensitive materials.

  • Reduced Dust and Contamination: Dry blasting produces a significant amount of dust and debris, which can be hazardous to both operators and the environment. Vapour blasting suppresses dust by wetting the abrasive media, reducing airborne contaminants and making cleanup easier.

  • Improved Surface Finish: The presence of water in vapour blasting helps lubricate the abrasive particles, resulting in a smoother finish with fewer abrasive embedments. This is particularly beneficial for applications requiring precise surface preparation or finishing, such as automotive or aerospace components.

  • Versatility: Vapor blasting can be used with a wide range of abrasive media, including glass beads, aluminium oxide, and garnet, allowing for greater flexibility in achieving different surface finishes and cleaning requirements.

  • Corrosion Prevention: The addition of rust inhibitors or corrosion inhibitors to the water in vapour blasting systems helps protect the cleaned surfaces from immediate oxidation, providing a temporary barrier against corrosion until further surface treatment can be applied.

  • Efficiency: While vapour blasting may require slightly more time and water than dry blasting, it often eliminates the need for secondary processes such as degreasing or cleaning, resulting in overall time and cost savings.

Overall, vapour blasting offers a more controlled and efficient method of surface preparation and cleaning, particularly for applications where surface integrity, precision are paramount.
